Sizzix Big Shot!

I have had a crazy last week, forgive the lack of posting....Today's post is a project I "cased" from one of my favorite stamping sites by a gal named Brenda, she was kind enough to share her pattern for this wonderful butterfly box with us Stampin' Up! Demonstators. Everything on this box is cut from the Stampin' Up! Sizzix Big Shot...can you guess all the dies? I have also added lots of bling from the Stampin' Up! Pretties Kit, check out the butterfly flying in the flowers. I hope you all enjoy this wonderful project, I loved making it and think it would make a wondeful gift, the flowers will never wilt...LOl! Happy Stamping....

Paperbag Scrapbook

This is a project I put together for Volunteer Appreciation Week at my daughters school. This project was for a group of people that have never stamped (I know, I Know, can you believe there are people out there that have never held a stamp in their had...sigh of sadness...LOL!) so I wanted this project to showcase the versatility of Stampin' Up!, which I think has something for everyone, and WOW them too. On the cover I used the Friendly Word wheel and Friends 27-7 stamp set. I love the way it came out.
On this first section I again used the Friends 24-7 stamp set, a little Parisian Breeze Specialty paper, the new scalloped oval, and a little pretties kit.

Here I used Sweet Always dsp, Pumpkin Pie, and Regal Rose. Stamps Flight of the Butterfly, and Inspired by Nature (currently on the dormit list).

On this last bit we used the stamp set Fifth Avenue Floral with the In Colors, and Chocolate Chip, and the Stampin Up! Manhatttan Flower Textured Impressions Die. I had a great time teaching these people who came in saying they were'nt crative and they left saying "Wow that was fun and easy". All of their projects came out beautiful, I was proud! Happy Stamping....

Stair Step Card

The time is drawing near to address the Graduation Invitations and pop them in the mail. As I thought how I was going to add the pictures to the invites I came across a great idea from out there on the internet....a stair step card. I thought this would be an excellent way to make the picture more memorable, a little gift of sorts. Since the card is a stand it makes a nice display to enjoy the picture and it isn't attached to the actual invitation. I know you are wondering about them colors....they are Stampin' Up! Basic Black, Whisper White, and Pumpkin Pie....I know what a color combination, but those are our school colors, they do look nice together, and hopefully everyone won't comment on the "Halloween" colors LOL! The cardstock for the card base are 4-1/4" X 10-1/2" you will score along the 10-1/2" side @ 1-1/4", 2-1/2", 4-1/4", 6", & 8-1/4". Taking the short score (1-1/4") you will fold down then back and forth on each score like a paper fan. Choose your theme, stamp and embellish. I used the Sizzix Top Note Die for my picture backroung, I love the look this gave to my picture card, enjoy. Happy Stamping.....

Polished Stone and Heat Embossing....

This little card is made using a Stampin' Up! set called Eastern Blooms. I think that it has a look of elegance. The black cardstock is from SU! and is in a package called Taste of Textiles, it is a textured black, which I have embossed in gold. I have used SU! brushed gold behind the polished stone piece, I think this really highlighted the gold, the flowers are punched out of a scrap of the polished stone that was left over using the Trio Flower punch. For this card I used gold re-inker and SU! In Color Tangerine Tango!

To create you own polished stone you will need SU! glossy white paper, choose either gold or silver re-inker, cotton ball, and some rubbing alcohol. On your glossy white cardstock you will place a few silver or gold dots randomly, then you will apply the rubbing alcohol to your cotton ball add a couple of drops of your re-inker color choice(s) choices and dab the colored cotton ball across the glossy white cardstock to mix the colors on to the gold/silver re-inkers mix into a beautiful pattern. This technique is so easy, and really makes a WOW effect to any project. Happy Stamping.....

Just Jawing...

Stampin' Up! has a wide variety of stamp sets, I am sure they have something for everyone! This set is called Just Jawing and makes great cards for teens. In the card above I used the Rockabilly Specialty designer series paper (Printed gloss design) did you know that this months special is buy 3 packs of SU! designer series paper or 12" x 12" textured cardstock and you get to pick a pack for FREE! I heat embossed the the words using our heat and stick powder and fine galaxy red glitter...this card is super sparkly!
Just Jawing has a coordinating wheel called Scary Skulls, above I embossed them on the bottom of this card using white emboss powder.

More Rockabilly Specialty designer paper, there are 2 sides to each sheet, I love the glossiness of the paper...wish you could see the beauty of it in the pictures.
In the card above the skull, and "YOU ROCK" sentiment was heat embossed with SU! gold emboss powder as for the stars I used SU! heat & stick powder with SU! Fine Galaxy gold glitter and the black stripped paper in the back is from SU! Rockabilly designer series paper the darker stripes are actually shinny, I love the result looks like a Rock Star card! ....I hope you ENJOY what I have shared with you today! Happy Stamping...
